From a unionist - good riddance, you're welcome to him 😉

ha ha ha

I agree he is an unreliable ally, to say the least.

I don’tvcare much for Galloway, but i care a lot (and as an 84 year old)?for Scottish independence. Westminster rule has been a disaster for Scotland for at least half my life. It has no hope of changing until they get proportional representation, and get rid of the House of Lords. Which is all very unlikely even in the medium term. So we need to be a Nation again, and England and Unionists will not stop us - just look at the demographics if you are not convinced!

While i won't be voting for Galloway's party, I am pleased that lots of Scots, with wide-ranging views on other issues, support the cause of independence.

I would also add that the rule of the Westminster ruling class has been bad for all of the UK for at least the last 70 years, and arguably the last 100.

I go back and forth about whether I prefer politicians who bend in whichever way the winds blow, or stand strong in the courage of their convictions, or simply update their opinions based on me evidence. What do you prefer?

Good question.

The whole point of democratic elections is to force politicians to do what the public want, so one ought not to complain too much when they do.

If someone never changes their mind on anything I might think they’re too rigid.

If someone is always changing their mind towards what they hope will advance their career, then they have no principles.

Maybe somewhere in the middle is the best policy.

Many such cases 😅
