Oatly is a Swedish company that makes alternatives to dairy products from oats.
They market themselves as an ethical company and attempt to appeal to vegans who, according to Oatly’s marketing, are more ethical than those who (boo! hiss!) eat meat or (shudder!) drink milk.
Here’s an example of Oatly’s marketing:
But how ethical is Oatly actually? Accoring to Wikipedia, Oatly is partly owned by the China Resources Holdings Company Limited, a state-owned Chinese conglomerate. Thus when you buy Oatly products you’re helping to fund the PRC’s concentration camps, genocide, use of rape as a political weapon, organ harvesting, torture, and slave labour.
Is this ethical? I’ll let you decide…
"than those who (boo! hiss!) eat meat or (shudder!) drink milk."
I'm sure you've thought a lot about veganism and industrial factory farming.
