The National on the 10th anniversary
The National, Scotland's pro-independence newspaper, marks the 10th anniversary of the indyref:
ON Wednesday, September 18, we mark 10 years since the 2014 independence referendum.
It's an important date for reflection on the Yes movement, and we'll have an extra jam-packed edition full of readers' memories, thought-provoking essays and special features.
The newspaper also includes an updated, glossy version of an iconic pro-independence poster from 2014, in collaboration with pro-independence campaign group Believe in Scotland.
Scottish Greens to hold independence debate
Scottish Greens to hold an independence debate on the 10th anniversary of the referendum:
On Wednesday 18th September, the 10th anniversary of the Scottish independence referendum, Scottish Green co-leader Lorna Slater will lead a landmark Member’s Business Debate on 10 Years since Scotland’s Independence Referendum.
It will be an opportunity for MSPs from all parties to reflect on the last 10 years as well as on Scotland’s constitutional future and how the people of Scotland can have a legal route to independence if that is their choice.
The motion submitted by Ms Slater notes the historic level of democratic engagement during the referendum campaign and calls for a reset in relations between the UK government and Holyrood after years of disrespect for devolution from successive Tory Prime Ministers.
Ms Slater said: “With the powers of a normal independent country we could do so much more to build a fairer, greener future focused on wellbeing and our environment.

Robin McAlpine and Alex Salmond discuss what Scotland would be like now if we'd voted for indy in 2014:
England should cut Scotland loose
Daily Telegraph commentator Matthew Lynn says England should stop subsidising Scotland:
It’s time for England to cut Scotland loose
[...] Over the last 20 years Scotland has made no effort to balance the books. It can hardly complain now that the money has finally run out. The SNP has been arguing for more powers for years. Surely the moment has arrived where it should be given full fiscal independence, allowing it to set its own spending, and raise its own taxes.
I agree! But this is unambitious: better still would be for Scotland not just to be independent on fiscal matters, but on everything.
Please do this, England.
I don't understand why you are "begging' the UK to let you loose?
