It astonishes me that London-based parties think that defeating the SNP defeats the Scottish independent movement. Do they really think they have the right just to say No?

OTOH, the SNP leadership have been so supine for the past nine years that saying No has worked. Time to move beyond politicians, I think.

Like many in Scotland, I am finding this the most dispiriting election campaign I've ever known.

I'll be voting SNP, but I hope they lose a lot of seats. I'd also like to see a Holyrood election as soon as possible and Labour to win there too. Then everything wrong would be seen as Labour's fault, and the independence movement (either a revived SNP or another party) would come back harder and stronger.

I'll vote SNP due to my MP, who the Sturgeonites hate and who is a good person and politically principled. I suspect Labour will "win" this year like they did in 2017 - because 500K indy supporters stayed at home.

I hope the SNP get a real kicking and Sturgeon's iron hand is finally removed from its neck. Then they'll either disappear, or start working with other pro-indy parties for the Holyrood Elections in 2026. If they don't, Labour might well gain seats.
