What a piece of brainwashed bullshit. Andrew Bridgen is interested in the truth not broadcasting propaganda. The government refuses to pay doctors, nurses teachers etc (the "essential workers" during lockdown) because of budget constraints. However, for war the cry is always "as much as it takes" because the people making the big decisions are profiting from war.

He speaks the truth when he says we can't afford it, otherwise we wouldn't have an NHS on its knees, crumbling infrastructure and a declining standard of living. You have lost me as a subscriber for your blind allegiance to a corrupt political system.

he's a politician. Therefore I regard him as as interested in truth as the average politician, i.e. not much. Remember that manipulating consensus reality (aka bullshitting) is a core competency of the ruling class.

We spend 10% of GDP on NHS and only 0.3% on Ukraine. Of course we can afford it.

I respect your decision.

If you think I feel any allegiance towards the Westminster ruling class, I can only conclude that you haven't read my blog very closely.

But I do feel allegiance to the truth. So when WM does the right thing (as they broadly have over Ukraine) I applaud it, even though I dislike lots of other things they do.

"When Bridgen talks about a “diplomatic solution” he means that Ukraine should just surrender to Putin."

Citation needed. I don't know who Bridgen is or what he believes in, but unless I see evidence to the contrary, I'm going to assume that "we need to step in diplomatically and help de-escalate" means "we need to step in diplomatically and help de-escalate", as opposed to "we need to pressure Ukraine to surrender."

I thought the Battle of Britain analogy was pretty lazy and ineffective as well.

There is zero evidence he would keep going and many of his words would lead you to believe he understands occupations are a bad idea.

Zero evidence? Today I watched a Putin appointee say they planned to recapture Poland, Finland and the Baltic States, on the grounds that “they are historical lands of Russia".

Yes, that's really how they think. Straight from the horses mouth. Russian MPs and news comentators regularly say similar things. Given how tightly the media and parliament is controlled by Putin, it must be with his approval.

Why is Poland spending $10bn on new arms? Why has Finland joined NATO? Because they see Putin as an existential threat. Which he is.
